Since 2013, right after I finished the production for GIRL & IT, I immediately started working on my first animated feature film THE HEART OF THEM and finally in post-production since last year (well, almost two years). We're almost there! But the question is, what's taking so long?

The thing is THE HEART OF THEM actually was 80% completed last year but I was not satisfied or even proud of both the animation and the art style. I made the hard decision to reset the animation production with better and more unique art style and animation. I've been testing this new animation technique for straight 4 months and honestly, this new technique I've been experimenting is making animation process for each scene much faster than the older version.

Believe it or not, the stills you see below are made with Adobe Animate CC (for animation) with Adobe After Effects CC (for colors, visual effects and few others) and Adobe Premiere CC (for final cut). It's still early, which explains the lack of actual art background, for I'm currently working on characters' animations before working on other things surrounding them.

I wish I could go back in time and started with this workflow. Makes my life so much easier.

Right now I've selected scenes I want to finish them for the upcoming trailer I have yet to announcement but all I can say is expect it maybe before September. As for when exactly will I finish the movie, I honestly can't answer that but with this workflow, hopefully before or little bit later after the New Year's Eve but my main plan is to finish the project for 2020 and 2021's film festivals (I'm looking at you, Toronto International Film Festival 2020).
